While the term ‘community’ can also imply the production of tangible and hands-on work in a given setting or the participation in extracurricular activities, Dawson’s core values have taught me to look at it through a different lens. Community also consists of the bond we share with one another and the obligation we have to support, protect and help each other. I’ve coined this as the “Dawson Feeling”; a shared atmosphere of support and care between everyone, and as the title suggests, I believe this is truly unique to Dawson. It speaks to the camaraderies we’ve formed with peers, the communities we’ve created and been welcomed into and the friendships we’ve formed, which I hope will last years to come.
