Nursing involves the development of trusting relationships; the appreciation of an individual’s life experiences and the impact these have on one’s wellness. Most importantly, nursing involves the provision of dignified, empathetic, and unconditional care. I am incredibly motivated to improve my practices and provide altruistic, compassionate nursing care in Jennifer Manitt’s memory.

Awarded to a student who, during clinical performance, has demonstrated a high degree of empathy, compassion and a gentle bedside manner. This award was established in October 2018 in loving memory of Jennifer Manitt, a palliative care nurse.
