Financial Markets & Investment Strategies

This course involves students in an investment simulation so they can understand intuitively how financial markets work. The course requires no prior knowledge of economics, finance or mathematics but material is presented so that even experienced traders will come away with new perspectives on financial transactions.

By trading in the simulation, students learn progressively about markets for equities, bonds, overnight money, options (European puts and calls) and futures. At the end of the course, students will have a common sense understanding of basic portfolio theory, and the different financial instruments traded in modern markets. The course intends to demystify the financial world.
