FEQ courses

Our intensive, in-person, FEQ courses are aligned with the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français – the government’s official scale for French as a second language competencies.

  • Do you need to pass a test for immigration purposes?
  • Are you a CEGEP student needing to satisfy the language requirements under law 14?

First, check your level

Dawson currently offers FEQ levels 1 – 7.

It is important that you complete the online assessment below to determine your level before registration.


FEQ course details

Level 1 – 40 hours

Levels 2, 3 – 80 hours

Levels 4, 5, 6, 7 – 100 hours

Book: Connexion or Par ici, Méthode de français (depending on level)

*** Only purchase the book after the first class, to ensure that you have been placed in the correct level.
