Sheila Watt Cloutier – Re-Imagining a New Way
Wed, Feb 3, 2021 5:30 p.m.
John Abbott College is excited and honoured to host the distinguished Inuk climate and human rights advocate and author, Sheila Watt-Cloutier. Her book The Right to Be Cold: One Woman’s Story of Protecting Her Culture, the Arctic and the Whole Planet, draws on her own story to model climate action and the protection of the Inuit way of life. She has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and has received the UN Champion of the Earth Award, the Sophie Prize, the Jack P. Blaney Award for Dialogue, the Right Livelihood Award, and has been granted the Order of Canada. She is a mother, a grandmother, and a voice for change that we must all take to heart.
