This presentation will discuss the findings of a research project aimed at improving our knowledge of the cognitive functioning and learning abilities of college students with ADHD, a population at risk in terms of educational success. The specific objectives were: 1) to identify sleep problems in students with ADHD and clarify the links with various factors including the severity of ADHD symptoms, the presence of other diagnosis and academic difficulties, and 2) to optimize the cognitive functioning of students with ADHD and sleep problems through a cognitive-behavioural intervention dedicated to solving sleep problems. The research comes up with pedagogical adaptation recommendations for teaching and professional staff, as well as recommendations for enhancing the learning abilities of students with ADHD to increase their chances of success.
