Essentials of Competency-based Programs – Available to faculty asynchronously

The Essentials of Competency-based Programs is designed to facilitate a shared understanding of and common language for discussing competency-based programs and competency development within our community.

The Essentials of Competency-based Programs is for:

        • faculty new to teaching
        • faculty with experience but new to the CEGEP network
        • seasoned college teachers with experience in the CEGEP network

Self-paced, asynchronous option – Moodle

The Moodle option consists of a set of 6 videos totaling approximately 60 minutes of viewing time. The videos will serve as a reminder or refresher for some viewers and a source of knowledge and new concepts for others.

The primary content is presented in the “Watch and Engage” section of each topic (videos). However, to enrich your viewing experience, it is suggested that you continue to explore and reflect on the videos’ main points by engaging with the complementary material in each topic:

        • activating questions
        • viewing guides
        • reflection forum threads

To access the Moodle option, you need to log in to Moodle using your regular Dawson email address and password.  You can go through the sections of the Essentials of Competency-based Programs at your own pace.
