Celebrating Diagnostic Imaging during Radiology Week Nov. 7-11
What do you like best about the Diagnostic Imaging Program at Dawson?
What I liked best about being in the Diagnostic Imaging Program was how welcoming and supportive everyone is. Throughout my studies, I appreciated how involved the teachers were in my learning and how the lessons they taught shaped me into a valued member of the healthcare profession. Another great thing about my studies at Dawson was the lifelong friendships I got to make with my classmates. Going the through the tough times together and celebrating our triumphs as a group taught us how to be a team.
What would you say to a student considering applying to the program?
For any new students considering the Diagnostic Imaging Program, I would say to them that the potential for growth in this field both on a personal and professional level is endless. It is highly rewarding to oneself knowing that you are doing something for the greater good of society. Professionally, when you are feeling fulfilled in one area of work, there is always the prospect of trying something new. We are blessed to have work opportunities across multiple modalities like General Radiography, CT scan, MRI and many more.
What are the best things about a career as a Diagnostic Imaging technologist?
The best part of being a Diagnostic Imaging technologist is the rewarding feeling you get at the end of every work day. Whether it’s through a small interaction with a patient or by helping people through the role we play in the diagnostic process, a technologist has the power to make someone’s day a little better than it was before.
