Dawson College will welcome Pascahl Scott in the position of Director of Human Resources when she takes up her duties on January 16. Her appointment was approved unanimously by the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors in December upon the recommendation of the hiring committee.
 
Over the next few months, Ms. Scott will undertake a needs assessment of the Human Resources administrative unit in terms of resources and will devise a plan of action to enhance the development of human resources in according the College’s strategic priorities.  The creation of the new position was approved at the Board of Governors’ meeting in June.
 
Pascahl Scott comes to Dawson after an impressive career in the field. She was formerly Senior Director of Human Resources with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt S.E.N.C.R.L./s.r.l. where she was instrumental in the implementation of strategic directions in the pursuit of the firm’s mission, including professional development, labour relations, policies and procedures, legal considerations and various programs pertaining to recruitment and engagement, team-building and evaluation. Prior to this mandate, she held positions in human resources with the city of Côte Saint-Luc, the city of Laval’s public works unit, Juste pour rire, the Société québécoise de récupération et de recyclage (RECYC – QUÉBEC) and McCarthy Tétrault S.R.L.
 
She holds a Baccalauréat in Industrial Relations from the Université de Montréal.
