Dawson College Model UN at McGill University’s McMUN Conference

Share

Last weekend, the largest ever Dawson College Model United Nations delegation of 57 students represented Dawson College at the McGill Model United Nations conference (McMUN) at the Sheraton Hotel Thursday through Sunday. This year McMUN continued its progression into one of the premier Model UN conferences in North America by attracting large numbers of student delegates from the Ivy Schools: Georgetown, George Washington University, Yale, Princeton, and, for the first time ever, Harvard University. Also new this year were the very large contingents from Chicago University and the University of Toronto.

The nearly 2,000 delegates at McMUN were divided among 23 committees – and not surprisingly most of the awards went to the schools listed above. The only 2 awards won by Montreal area schools were to a delegate from the Université de Montréal Faculty of Law and one to a delegate from – Dawson College. Anne-Marie Langlois of the Dawson College Health Science Program won Honorable Mention in a bilingual joint-crisis committee on the Hundred Years War. We want to express publically our congratulations to Anne-Marie and all the Dawson College delegates who worked hard to prepare for and participate in this very demanding McMUN Conference.
