Dawson’s Psychology Profile Coordinator Selma Hamdani is incredibly grateful to receive a mention d’honneur from the Association québécoise de pédagogie collégiale (AQPC).
“Whatever I do, it is not by myself,” she said. “So many vibrant and great ideas are sparked everywhere at Dawson. I share this honour with the Dawson Active Learning Community (DALC), the Office of Academic Development, the Psychology Department, the Communities of Practice and so many other people who helped me be the teacher I am today. Liberal Arts students stage “Philosophy Play” May 14

Never ones to be daunted by a pandemic, a group of Liberal Arts students have been busy this past year writing and rehearsing a Zoom version of the annual "philosophy play." The result is an uproarious comedy called B.A.B.O.O.N., set to premiere on YouTube at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 14.
Using utilitarian algorithms, an AI called BABOON (Beneficent Analytics Behavioural Optimization and Operationalization Network) has determined that a worldwide COVID lockdown will be made permanent. In order to address discontent with its decision, BABOON has convened a townhall meeting of "luminaries" from various areas of expertise. Hilarity ensues... until the discovery of a paradox in BABOON's programming leads to a dark and cataclysmic turn.

Illustration students capture flight of migratory birds

The Illustration Program, the Sustainability Office and Taking Root Inc. collaborated on a project to capture key events of the migratory flight of two species of native Quebec birds from urban forests near Dawson College to the newly replanted forests of Nicaragua.
