R.I.P. Emile Hajjar

October 20th, 2020

We regret to inform you that Emile Hajjar passed away Oct. 8. Emile taught in the Business Administration Department at Dawson for four decades (1973-2013). He was a true original according to Business Administration faculty member Robert Soroka.

R.I.P. Norman Bimson

September 22nd, 2020

We regret to inform you that Norman Bimson passed away Sept. 1 after a lengthy illness. He taught Humanities at Dawson College from 1979-2001.


Tony Proudfoot Park opens

August 25th, 2020

On Aug. 21, the City of Pointe-Claire announced the opening of the new Tony Proudfoot Park.

R.I.P. Gordon Masten

August 25th, 2020

We regret to inform you that Gordon Masten (Professional Theatre) passed away suddenly on July 26. Gordon was the beloved husband of Jude Beny, Chair of Professional Theatre (Acting).

R.I.P. Marian-Ellen Ring

May 12th, 2020

We regret to inform you that Marian-Ellen Ring has passed away.

Marian-Ellen had taught at Dawson since 1996 and served on the Humanities Executive, most recently as Curriculum Coordinator. In addition to teaching, Marian-Ellen was involved in the Active Learning community. She was always present at social events and was often one of the last to leave a good party.

R.I.P. Mary Wawrzetz

We regret to inform you that Mary Wawrzetz passed away suddenly on February 27. She had worked at Dawson College from 1980 until her retirement in 2016. Mary was a valued member of the College management team and served as the Bookstore Manager for several years.

Rob Springer Game this Friday

The Rob Springer Game, which was postponed Feb. 7 due to the snowstorm, will now take place this Friday, Feb. 21 at 8 p.m.

The Dawson Blues will play John Abbott College at Westmount Recreation Centre (4675 Saint-Catherine St, Westmount, Quebec H3Z 1S4). Light refreshments will be served from 7:30 p.m.- 8 p.m. Please come and support the team and the Rob Springer Scholarship Fund by buying a sticker and wearing it to the game. Get your stickers in 1H.4.
