Creative Change Maker Awards to be presented Sept. 21

The Creative Collective for Change will be hosting an event at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery at Dawson on Sept. 21 at 5:30 PM to present Creative Change Maker Awards to three recipients.
Congratulations to Kessy Ininahazwe and Elishah Alphonse for their project "Can't Bare No More", Kylie Brown for her video "Say Gay" and Sarah Browne for her poster "Love Beyond Culture" (pictured).
From Sept. 18-21, the gallery will host an exhibit of the student artworks submitted to the Creative Collective for Change (CC4C).
Dawson Homecoming: what you should know ahead of Sept. 23

Dawson’s first ever Homecoming on Saturday, Sept. 23 is only three weeks away!
Here’s what you need to do:
- Get your early-bird lunch special: Those who pre-order their Homecoming Burgundy Lion lunch will benefit from a discount. Menu* and tickets** here
*for kids 10 and under, a children's meal will be available for purchase on site
**a small portion of each lunch ticket will go to the Dawson Foundation to support students

The Professional Theatre (Acting) Program will be staging three productions this fall:
- Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Stefanie Buxton (First Studio, Year Two, Group One) Wednesday, Sept. 20 to Saturday, Sept. 23 at 7:30 PM
- Clue by Jonathan Lynn & Sandy Rustin, directed by Jonathan Monro (Second Studio, Year Two, Group Two) Wednesday, Oct. 4 to Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 PM
- Henry V by William Shakespeare, directed by Michael E Hughes (First Major) Previews at 7:30 pm Monday and Tuesday Nov. 13 and 14
- Opening at 7:30 PM Wednesday, Nov. 15
- Playing at 7:30 PM Nov. 15 to 18 and Nov. 23 - 25
- Matinées at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, Nov. 15, Friday, Nov. 17, and Thursday, Nov. 23

Welcome Back event is Aug. 18

To kick off the new semester, Director General Diane Gauvin and Academic Dean Leanne Bennett will be hosting a Welcome Back event for all staff and faculty on Friday, Aug. 18.
The event will include lunch and will take place in 3C.1 and the courtyard from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Dawson’s first Homecoming is Sept. 23

Dawson graduates, retirees and employees are invited to Dawson's first ever Homecoming! We are inviting our alumni back to reconnect with the Dawson community. Together, with our graduates, Dawson contributes to the strength of Quebec and our beloved and eclectically diverse City of Montreal! Now more than ever, we need to come together and show our Dawson values and pride.
Come and enjoy fun activities, walk down memory lane, go to program reunions and take in a Dawson Blues basketball game.
Dawson’s Homecoming will be on Saturday, Sept. 23. Plans are underway and we will be creating a webpage with all the updates.

BYO Bike and learn how to maintain it May 23

Adam Kingsland (Faculty, Mechanical Engineering) will be giving a bike repair and tune-up workshop on Tuesday, May 23 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Spots are limited so reserve your spot by emailing sustainability@dawsoncollege.qc.ca. Bring your bike to the Gazebo in Parking Lot 1 (Wood Avenue side of campus) and learn how to:
- Change a tube & pump up your tires
- Adjust your brakes
- Adjust your gears / shifters

The countdown is on to Vernissage Season at Dawson. Graduating students in Visual Arts, Illustration, Professional Photography, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, 3D Animation and Computer Generated Imagery and Interior Design will present their work in end-of-year exhibitions.

The Dawson College Professional Photography graduating class of 2023 is thrilled to invite you to our highly anticipated vernissage and exhibition, "Between Us"!
Please join us in Conrod's at Dawson College for an opening night vernissage on Wednesday, May 24 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Come and appreciate the artistry of our class while enjoying live music and refreshments, as we showcase our best photographic work and celebrate the culmination of our studies. The "Between Us" exhibition will be open until Saturday, May 28.
