Get your flu vaccine at Dawson for free

The flu season is upon us and in keeping with our value of well-being for all, the College has arranged for a FREE flu vaccine clinic open to all Dawson employees on a first-come first-served basis. The Human Resources team is currently working on confirming the dates with the service provider for the end of November.

You could expect an email the week of Nov. 7 confirming the dates and location for the flu shot and including a link to book your appointment.

First in-person Ped Day since pandemic

October 19th, 2022

Dawson College held its first in-person Ped Day on Oct. 14. More than 120 teachers, managers and professionals attended.

Human Resources Director Pascahl Scott opened the event saying “we can be proud of the way we have adapted to our current reality.” The goal of the day, she said, was to equip Dawson teachers with practical strategies.

Special thanks were given to organizers Angela Silvaroli and Jennifer Di Lalla of Human Resources and Anne Piggott of the Office of Academic Development as well as their colleagues.

CRISPESH is a non-profit organization, created through a partnership between Cégep du Vieux Montréal and Dawson College. It is a centre for applied research and transfer (CCTT) whose mandate is to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the development and promotion of social practices that foster academic, social and professional inclusion for people with disabilities.

The services offered by CRISPESH are distinguished by their scientific and experiential roots. By drawing on knowledge from research and from experiential knowledge, the Centre is able to offer a range of customized services that are conducive to the development of social innovations in organizations or communities.

Support Staff Training Day is May 24

May 18th, 2022

Support Staff Training Day is this coming Tuesday, May 24 from 8:50 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. online. It will feature a variety of workshops and plenary speaker Julien R. Johnson (pictured) from Project 10. They will help us understand diversity of gender, sex and sexual orientation. Julien is the person behind Dawson’s gender neutral bathrooms.

Denise M. Brend will present a Trauma Informed Care approach in communicating and working with students and colleagues. Denise currently teaches at Université Laval and is a former Dawson teacher.
