New Purpose for your Tacky Mugs

November 26th, 2019

Dawson uses enough disposable coffee cups to fill the Lower Atrium from floor to ceiling every year! Using reusable mugs can make a huge impact. However, the cafeteria's mug inventory has almost disappeared.

Your tacky mugs, Holiday mugs, ex-boyfriend mugs, worn-off graphics mugs, extravagant and over-the-top mugs can have a new life and purpose here. Please drop off your 10 - 20 oz capacity mugs in the bins at the caf entrance. You can also return the dirty mugs sitting on your desk- no judgement and no questions asked! ;)

Let’s go around the world by bike in 2020!

November 19th, 2019

In 2019, Dawson bike riders who took advantage of the Sustainability Office’s annual Bixi membership rebate travelled 21,258 kms and saved 2,084 litres of gasoline during 8,505 biking trips! We will be asking all bike riders in 2020 to register their kms to and from Dawson.  With your help, biking and logging your kms, we believe we can bike the equivalent of the earth's circumference next year: a total of 40,075 kms. To get a rebate next spring, please email sustainability@dawsoncollege.qc.ca.
