New stock of mini desktop garbages have arrived

If you would like one for your desk please stop by the Sustainability Office 4B.3A and pick one up. First come first served.

A friendly reminder of why we have mini desk top garbages that we bring to the sorting station ourselves:

  • We hope to reduce waste and make everyone more accountable and mindful of the waste they produce and where it goes.
  • By bringing your own waste to the sorting stations we hope you run into different people from the Dawson community and start a conversation and spark connections, bringing community together. It’s the new water cooler.

Applications are open for projects that benefit students

Applications open for the new Dawson Student Academic Enrichment Fund of the Dawson College Foundation on Tuesday, Nov.  22. To be considered,  projects must:

  • Demonstrate a clear benefit for Dawson students
  • Represent an activity that goes over and above core competencies for completion of a DEC

The deadline to apply is Friday, Dec. 2. Projects selected in this round will receive funding at the beginning of the Winter 2023 semester. Click Read More for the details.

College responding to Oct. 31 incident

Dawson College is currently investigating an incident that occurred on campus on Halloween, Oct. 31. The College issued this statement on Nov. 1. This Friday, the College will be co-hosting with Hillel Dawson a listening event for students. Director General Diane Gauvin, Academic Dean Rob Cassidy and Hebrew Professor Leila Roiter will be present. Special thanks to Diana Rice of Dawson’s Peace Centre and the Office of Academic Development for helping create a constructive space for dialogue.

Get your flu vaccine at Dawson for free

The flu season is upon us and in keeping with our value of well-being for all, the College has arranged for a FREE flu vaccine clinic open to all Dawson employees on a first-come first-served basis. The Human Resources team is currently working on confirming the dates with the service provider for the end of November.

You could expect an email the week of Nov. 7 confirming the dates and location for the flu shot and including a link to book your appointment.

Atwater Pantry turned 1

The Atwater Community Pantry turned one last week. This student-led initiative was born to tackle food insecurity in the neighbourhood surrounding Dawson, and won a local Forces AVENIR award in the Mutual aid, peace, and Justice category earlier this year.
