CLÉO can help your students with French

Share

Do your students need help learning French? CLÉO (Centre de langue écrite et orale) has a wide range of services offered online.

Not familiar with CLÉO? It’s Dawson’s French-language tutoring service. Dawson students can come to CLÉO to get help with homework and assignments, reading comprehension, proofreading, grammar, oral expression and presentations. For a quick overview of the activities, services and resources offered online by CLÉO, refer to this conceptual map here.

CLÉO is open Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

As well as regular tutoring, CLÉO technicians are also offering two different conversation workshops during the Fall 2020 semester.

The “Short Film Club” presents a different short film from the National Film Board every Tuesday. Participants discuss the film in a relaxed fashion. Thursday’s “Conversation Workshop,” on the other hand, is a role-play type of workshop where students get to experience real-life situations in French, such as finding a new apartment or buying a present for a friend.
