Dawson Holiday Gift Campaign for children in care
The Dawson community is invited to once again make a child’s wish to Santa come true by participating in the Batshaw Youth and Family Centres annual Holiday Gift Campaign. The goal is to provide gifts and needed items for approximately 1,500 children aged 0-17 who are under Youth Protection in the Montreal region, including children in foster care and group homes.
Janice Harvey (Retired Faculty, History) is looking for:
- Individuals or groups/departments interested in being matched with a child/children and their wish lists for Santa (suggested value $50 per child)
- Volunteers to help her deliver gifts to the Batshaw facility nearby on Weredale Park Street in Westmount.
If you are interested in being matched with a child or helping Janice with delivery:
- please email her as soon as possible and before Thursday, Dec. 5 – she needs to have the gifts at Batshaw by December 10: jharvey@dawsoncollege.qc.ca.
Janice reminds us that these children are a part of our extended community. Many become Dawson students and students in several Dawson programs do stages in their facilities. This will be the seventh year that the Dawson community has mobilized for this campaign. Last year we provided gifts for more than 100 children. Additional information will be sent to anyone interested.
