A website is the ‘face’ of an organization. In Dawson’s case, it is the primary vehicle through which we promote our programs to prospective students, showcase the amazing work of our students and faculty locally, nationally and internationally as well as invite partnerships and donations to the College.
The last time Dawson’s website was redesigned was in 2015. In light of the recently refreshed branding guidelines for the College as well as a growing desire to offer some of our content in both French and English, the Communications Office and Information and Systems Technology (IST) Office are redesigning Dawson’s website and would like to gather feedback from the internal community. Note that user feedback will also be gathered from external users and users with specific accessibility needs.

Key objectives of the project include:
- Offering key information regarding admissions, programs and career opportunities in French (a bilingual site)
- Designing the site with prospective students as a key target audience in mind
- Simplifying the information architecture which improves the user experience and accessibility
- Refreshing the design and colour scheme of the website in line with Dawson’s branding guidelines
Further down the road, Communications and IST would also like to explore how to make the experience for internal audiences (staff, faculty and students) more customized to their information needs.
