Julie Brosseau will begin her new role as Dean of Academic Systems on March 31. She succeeds Carmela Gumelli, who is retiring.

Julie brings extensive academic administrative experience to the role, having served as Associate Dean of Academic Systems since July 2014. Her professional journey includes serving as Associate Dean at Cégep Édouard-Montpetit, working as a mathematics and programming teacher, and gaining management experience in a private school setting.

Julie holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a certificate in teaching, both from Université de Montréal.

In her new position, Julie will be responsible for faculty staffing allocation and she will oversee the activities and services of the Registrar’s Office that support both students and prospective students. These services include academic advising, standing and advancement, transmission of student data to the ministry, information services, recruitment, admissions, scheduling, registration, records and graduation.

“I am looking forward to working more closely with Academic Dean Leanne Bennett and the other deans,” Julie said. “Also, I will be more involved with the various directors of the different departments.

“Most of all, I am fortunate to have an amazing and dedicated team in Academic Systems who I know I can count on.  Knowing they are by my side will allow me to focus on my new challenges.”
