SPACE update
As we come to the end of this challenging semester, SPACE (Sciences Participating with Arts and Culture in Education) is preparing for an online Fall semester in which we will continue to host and build on our usual venues and activities––website, web magazine, contests, talks, conferences, exhibitions, etc.––while adapting to this new reality of online learning.
Dawson students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the broader community from across the disciplines are invited to participate in SPACE through curricular and co-curricular examinations of our 2020/2021 theme, space s, exploring our contemporaneous co-existence with others in spaces of all kinds.
Next year’s poster, created by 2nd year Illustration student Miranda Clarke, was the outcome of a co-curricular project between SPACE and a class of 29 Illustration students, led by Illustration faculty Stephanie Aubin. You can read about the project and see some of the other student poster proposals here.
We also invite faculty to check out the development of a new section on the SPACE website which will be further developed over the summer, and which includes a link to a virtual submission platform for students as well as learning activities for teachers to help inspire and enrich student learning in the fall. As always, if you would like to collaborate with SPACE in any way, feel free to reach out to us through Ursula Sommerer at usommerer@dawsoncollege.qc.ca.
