Excellent performances by Dawson students at Jeux de Commerce Édouard-Montpetit

The Jeux de Commerce Édouard-Montpetit is a Case Competition in its 3rd year in the CEGEP network. This is a formative event for our students, who train for five months by analyzing university-level marketing cases, developing oral presentation skills, and learning to think on their feet (literally) in order to respond to questions posed by industry experts.

The 3rd annual Jeux de Commerce Collégiales Case Competition was held on March 9 and 10 at CEGEP Édouard-Montpetit and the Sandman Hotel in Longueuil. Twenty CEGEP teams from across Quebec competed in both marketing and accounting case competitions, where teams of three students analyzed a business case, created a PowerPoint presentation, and then presented to judges who were recruited from industry.

The Dawson presentation was observed by several faculty and many students. The Dawson contingent’s four teams did extremely well, with both prizes for best individual performance in Marketing and in Accounting being awarded to Dawson students Alessia Proietti (Marketing) and Kartik Rana (Accounting). The Student Success Action Plan lent its support to this exciting initiative as part of its mandate to provide funds for extracurricular and in-curricula projects that involve direct student participation and/or takes a new approach to pedagogy and student skill development. Congratulations to all the participants.
