Eloise Charet – Peace Studies Certificate Speakers

Eloise Charet has been an activist her entire adult life for causes as diverse as saving orphans in war torn Cambodia, volunteering in orphanages and organizing a soup kitchen in Bangladesh, and working on environmental issues. She undertook a six month long Cross Canada Water Walk from mile 0 0f the Trans-Canada highway in Victoria to Ottawa.. She has confronted logging companies in order to preserve the watershed area near New Denver, B.C. where she lives. She has currently initiated a project to protect the survival of the Western Toad whose habitat is threatened by lumber companies. She also advocates for First Nation peoples and has been adopted by the Bear Clan in Northern B.B. Eloise is a skilled cedar basket weaver.
