Apart from reading the FAQ, program pages and Open House info, we have some key advice for you.

Some key advice for all potential applicants considering Dawson

• Browse the programs, take a self-guided tour, or visit Dawson’s Open House. Decide which programs interest you the most and which ones you think you could get into based on the courses you have taken and your academic performance. Ask your guidance counsellor or a Dawson academic advisor about the grades you need to be competitive. Cut-off averages fluctuate each year.
• Apply to the program of your choice at Dawson if you have the minimum admission requirements. Unlike other public CEGEPs in Montreal, Dawson has an independent application system so you can apply directly from our website. You can apply to a program at Dawson and still apply to other CEGEPs as well, keeping your options open. Use all the application systems at your disposal.
• If you have an English eligibility certificate and you meet the minimum program requirements, priority will be given to your application based on college-determined standards that vary depending on the program.
• If you do not have an English eligibility certificate, you should still apply if you meet the minimum program admission requirements. A little less than half the new students at Dawson this Fall 2024 semester are non-certificate holders. You will be in good company. • If you really want to come to Dawson and are not sure you have the grades to get into a particular program, ask an academic advisor about your options. Some programs are very accessible. Dedicated drop-in hours for prospective students

• Thursday, Oct. 3: 2 PM to 4 PM
• Thursday, Oct.10: 2 PM to 4 PM

The drop-in’s are at the 2D.7 counter; which is on the second floor (up one level from the Atwater Metro entrance), pass the cafeteria and turn right to go all the way to the end of the D wing.
