The Dawson Robotics Hackathon is a collaborative, interdisciplinary event where students work in teams to find creative solutions to a themed challenge. No experience will be necessary.
The themed challenge is Arduino-based and will involve the construction of a micro-robot designed to perform a task. Student teams (minimum 2, maximum 4) will be provided with a kit of components and precise instructions. For students who are not part of a team at the time of registration, we will try to match you with other participants to form a team. Registration is separate from the ScienceFest presenters form (see below).
On Friday May 3rd teams will be given their kits and learn about the precise details of the challenge. Throughout the week of May 6th, teams will build and code their solutions to the navigation challenge. Friday, May 10th is challenge day. Teams present their projects and compete for prizes.

Introductory tutorials of the basics for robotics can be found on Dawson’s virtual lab website used for Engineering Physics: https://englab.dawsoncollege.qc.ca/
There are many resources and project examples that can be found with a simple web search. It takes only a few minutes to get started building with this technology!
The event takes place in 3C.1, May 10. You are not required to be present at all times in order to compete in the event with your team. Throughout the week teams will be provided a practice course to design and build their solutions.
