Admission Requirements
- A Diploma of Secondary Studies (DES) or academic background judged equivalent to the DES
- Letter of intent
- Two recommendation forms
- An interview may be required to assess academic backgrounds, qualifications, or experiences and how they fit with the program

If an interview is required, applicants will be contacted by the Social Service department.
Letter of Intent
The purpose of the Letter of Intent is to give you an opportunity to tell us about your interest in the Social Service Program and some of your qualities and experiences that are relevant to this field of work.
Guidelines
Please address the following questions in your Letter of Intent (maximum 500 words):
- How do your personality traits, values and interests make you well suited for the Social Service Program?
- Please describe any paid, volunteer or community engagement experiences that have given you insight into the social service profession.
- How do you maintain self-care while dealing with challenging situations?
- If there is anything in your academic background you would like to elaborate on, please include it here.
Recommendation Forms
Two recommendation forms must be submitted by March 1, the admission deadline. The forms must be completed by any of the following: teachers, employers, someone from an organization in which you did volunteer work, or someone from a community or social service organization who knows you.
- The Applicant e-mails the English or French form link for recommendation letters to the Recommender.
- The Recommender fills out the form and submits it online.
- Both the Applicant and the Recommender will receive an email confirmation with a copy of the completed form.
- The applicant then uploads the form as a supporting document in their application.
