Cinema-Communications: Buggfeed – Fear the Bite

December 5th, 2016

On December 5th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in Dawson’s lower atrium, the Communications Design and Practice Course will be holding an eye-opening event in order to bring awareness to environmental issues imminently affecting society as we know it.

The goal of this event is to educate Dawson students about the environmental threats we face due to global warming. The event aims to ever-so-slightly exaggerate the effects of global warming in order to scare the general population into making a drastic lifestyle change.

Through various posters, web-design projects, videos, and social media accounts, we aim to raise awareness of a not-so-distant future in which we have depleted all natural food resources and are forced to eat bugs as a vital part of our diet. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram.

Project Update

Buggfeed – Fear the Bite represented the culmination of a semester’s work aimed at raising awareness about the future prospects of the food that we consume. Students showed videos and 4′ x 8′ posters that they had created during the semester about the very real possibility that, if we continue with our current food consumption habit, we’ll all be eating bugs. There were over twenty students from CinComm involved in putting on the event, which ultimately reached 100s of Dawson students and faculty.  Visit our event site https://buggfeed.dawsoncollege.qc.ca/ for more information.
