Dawson Reading Series 2016-2017

Fall 2016 / Winter 2017

The Dawson Reading Series invites authors to read for students at the college and answer their questions at an event held once a semester.

We strive to invite writers who demonstrate a high degree of creativity which can help to inspire students.

Project Update

The Dawson Reading Series presented an hour-long discussion with award-winning Montreal author Anna Leventhal. Anna discussed the craft of creating fiction, read from her book and answered questions.

Anna Leventhal’s acclaimed short story collection Sweet Affliction (Invisible Publishing) won the Quebec Writers’ Federation Concordia University First Book Prize and was named one of the best books of 2014 by the CBC. Her writing has appeared in Geist, Matrix, Maisonneuve, The Toronto Star, The Montreal Review of Books, and several short fiction anthologies. She was nominated for the Journey Prize, won a Quebec Writing Competition award, and was shortlisted for a Canada Writes award. She lives in Montreal.
