Resist Violence: I Object

May 1st, 2018

An exhibit of artistic pieces made by Dawson students that aim to resist violence. A mix of film, photography, and structural work that address the broad issue of objectification. Through these forms of artistic activism viewers ideas of discrimination, exploitation, victim-shaming and the destruction of war will be challenged. The exhibit will allow viewers to participate and interact with forms of resistance to ensure a thoughtful and reflective experience.

Project Update

Printed works combined with video and interactive works were really well accomplished and many responded to the work with thoughtful and positive feedback. Working with a common theme seemed to really enable students to guide their work, and the exhibit showcased their research and work in a powerful way. The interdisciplinary nature of this work made the projects rich in content and experimental in form. Below is the list of student work and titles.Artistic Activists + Project Titles: Do They Know?
