Studio Arts Catalogue (Winter 2016)

Winter 2016

The catalogue promotes the works created by 22 students in two sections of the Studio Arts Integrating Activity course Two pages were allocated to each student. They contain a portrait, an artist’s statement and an image of their work. Each student worked on a self-directed project during the semester. The catalogue was the result of a semester of collaborative work between the students. The planning of the catalogue began week 4; the students met regularly in their common studio space to share and discuss the planning of their exhibition and the production of their catalogue. One student designed the final catalogue from the visual material gathered and the statements from the students. Despina Daniilidis was responsible for the design of the cover and the layout, while all the other students helped with the photographs. These activities have facilitated the development of the dynamics of bonding between students and have increased student motivation and confidence. The students took the pictures of the portraits in the catalogue and of their artworks. They took responsibility for the first proofreading which the instructors verified several times.
